SOLUTION: The client has seen an increase in business during Padres games and was looking for a way to take advantage. As a solution, I had them specifically target the Padres fans on their email list with a special offer of 50% off one sub sandwich available during the game.
I open the subject line directly addressing Padres fans, while also clearly informing everyone on the email list of the offer. The plan is to test the concept. If it proves successful, it could be made a staple of future Padres games.

PROJECT GOAL: To welcome customers who have signed up for the email list and entice them to visit again.
SOLUTION: I used the coolness of the restaurant's name in the subject line with "Welcome To The Mafia!" giving customers an insider feeling. I then immediately followed with the offer of $10 off and three examples of entrees available for under $10.
The plan is to reinforce the insider feeling established here with future emails keeping 'Mafia' members up to date on the menu as well as providing them more special offers.

That's the thinking behind this special offer. And making it exclusive to email subscribers not only encourages their loyalty, it keeps their eyes on their inboxes to see what comes next.
